Gender minorities’ suicidal ideation and depressive affect: An ecological momentary assessment of temporally proximal risk factors. This project will consist of a 30-day EMA study of gender minority young adults who experience suicidal ideation and will focus on within-person risk factors of suicidal ideation and depressive affect.
Understanding Outcomes Among Sexual Minority Women and Gender Diverse People. This project examines sexual minority women and gender diverse people assigned female at birth (SMWGD)’s experiences with minority stress, substance use, and mental health utilizing ecological momentary assessments and qualitative interviews.
Bi+ Transgender and Gender Diverse Stress, Resilience and Suicidal Ideation. This study examines how transgender and gender diverse resilience factors (i.e., support, self-affirmation) moderate the associations between distal and proximal transgender and gender diverse stress and suicidal ideation frequency and severity.
Transgender and Gender Diverse School Climate and Measurement Validation. This project examines transgender and gender diverse (TGD) people’s school-based experiences of victimization as well as their perceptions of school climate related to TGD issues in order to inform a new measure of TGD victimization in schools.
Trans-Forming the Narrative. This qualitative study examines the positive and negative experiences of transgender and gender diverse people online and their perceptions of their health and wellbeing.
LGB+ Students’ School Climate and Experiences of Discrimination. This study used path analyses to examine marginalized students’ perceptions of school climate as related to their identities and experiences of discrimination from teachers and peers.
Gender Exclusion in STEM. This study uses multigroup structural equation modeling to examine expected bystander behavior when men and women are excluded from Physics classes.
Young Adults' Evaluation of Gender-Based Cyberbullying. This study evaluated gender-based cyberbullying, theory of mind, and emotional intelligence, with a focus on understandings of bystander behavior within the context of transgressor gender and status.
Adolescents’ peer evaluation of social transgressions. This study evaluates gender-based humor and emotional intelligence, with a focus on understandings of bystander behavior within the context of intergroup relations.
Digital Era Bullying: An Examination of Adolescent Judgments about Bystander Intervention. This study evaluated moral judgments related to cyberbullying within the context of bystander behavior and experiences of discrimination.
The Role of Theory of Mind, Group Membership, and Apology in Youth Intergroup Forgiveness. This project evaluated intergroup forgiveness and theory of mind.
Examining Victimization across Different Types of Transgressors. This project examined how young children perceive transgressors based on different characteristics of transgressors and victims.
